Just who are you, downdog designs?
Hi! I am Linda Muehlbrad, owner and creative source, for downdog designs and redesigns. Having a love of crafting, I started making human jewelry to sell in a local yoga retail shop as a way to contribute to TIGR~Texas Italian Greyhound Rescue. That was over 5 yrs. ago and 2 additional Iggies who adopted my family while being fostered by us. Temptation to add another is always there. So far I've resisted...maybe.
As I became more involved with the "behind the scenes" needs, I began making simple martingale collars and leashes for the fosters and for TIGR events. Before I knew it, I was making plain bellybands for the male dogs that tend to raise the hind leg a lot in new environments and need extra protection.
Then came the snowball effect. Since IGs get cold easily, it became apparent that jackets were needed. Since I sew, I started producing jackets to help another volunteer seamstress. As spring arrived, the halter vests became another project. Then Hush! Tag Silencers and slings. My IGs probably think they have such a huge wardrobe that they don't wear many things twice. Actually they are trying on my creations for fit and adjustment. But, I'm not going to tell them that. Such Divas!
As new suggestions have been made, I have responded, "I can do that!" I am always willing to try something at least once. Usually I start modifying and hopefully improving.
I am blessed to be able to spend so much time at the sewing machine and not work full time. TIGR and sighthounds are my job! Developing and creating new downdog designs help me fulfill my passion to help find forever homes for these wonderful creatures.
